Concerted Action on Telematics used in Case Mix and Resource Management

Objective

The Concerted Action will:

Create a platform for the European Research and Development on Casemix and Resource Management on the definition of a common European strategy for the use of Casemix classifications and Resource management,
Create and maintain an up-to-date inventory of operational casemix tools and data requirements,
Create and maintain an inventory of Resource Management methodologies and tools including the classification of Resources used and perceived Outcome,
Summarise findings on the use of the Casemix and Resource Management systems and methodologies based on evaluations of the participating projects,
Make recommendations for the development of European Casemix methodologies and tools, which should be focused on the support of Resource Management in different modalities of care,
Make recommendations for the dissemination of the Concerted Action results on methodologies to support the implementation of Casemix and Resource Management systems across Europe,
Identify information needs of Casemix and Resource Management and globally define functions of a Casemix based Resource Management Support System to control the provision of effective and efficient patient care,
Support the assessment of the hypothesis of a patient centred care oriented approach as a starting point for the introduction of an Episodes of Care approach of Casemix Classifications, and
Define issues that should be dealt with in future European research projects in the field.

Approximately 20 partners will participate in this action, that can be seen as a continuation of four projects in the AIM Exploratory Action. It covers three domains: Acute hospital care, primary care/outpatients and tertiary care. The main actors (doctors, economists, nurses and administrators) in Europe in these fields are participating. This gives the action a good chance to coordinate the national projects that make up the action. Likewise the action will have an impact on standardizing attempts in this field. The AIM projects PROCAS and MEMPHIS contribute and benefit from involvement.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

This project has not yet been classified with EuroSciVoc.
