ON-FARM DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF ORGANIC FARMING SYSTEMS : THE ROLE OF LIVESTOCK AND AGRO-FORESTRY

Objective



The project aims at identifying and estimating the potential for an alternative organic farming system in 6 different regions of the community. The work will focus on the potential and problems relating to the incorporation of livestock as well as the integration of trees and woody vegetation into the farm system. It also includes improved nutrient supply and weed control for organic arable crops. The research methodology includes on- farm research and farmers participation.
