STRUCTURAL CHANGES IN THE EUROPEAN FOOD INDUSTRY : CAUSES AND IMPLICATIONS

Objective



The objective of this Concerted Action is to analyze the forces for change in the food system and their consequences. By analyzing the linkages in the food system, the action will address issues such as impact of reform of CAP on the size, location; competitiveness in food processing industries, capacity of small and large companies to adapt to changing food demand patterns; impact of globalisation of markets; the evolution of different food systems in North and Southern Europe. The action will focus on data requirements and methodology for empirical analysis of the food system.
