Objective
The project aims to prove the possibility and feasibility of Hibiscus esculentus in the European agriculture. This environment friendly crop, which has multiple by-products, can be cultivated on a free chemical based system. Experimental cultivations will be realized in order to search the quantitative and qualitative characters of derived products.
The deliverables will be:
(1) Research on optimisation of primary production and agricultural aspects of the crop;
(2) Fresh pods for chemical analysis;
(3) Seeds for chemical analysis and chemical industrial use;
(4) Fibres for laboratory analysis with specification of their properties in the papermaking and fiber reinforcing processings;
(5) Socio-macro and micro-economical aspects of the cultivation in different countries.
A mini pilot plan will be set up in order to determine the potential processings and uses of the products.
