REDUCTION OF PESTICIDE INPUTS TO FRUIT AND VINEYARD CROP PRODUCTION BY IMPROVING THE CONTROL, OPERATION AND DESIGN OF SPRAY APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

Objective

The objective is to reduce current pesticide pollution levels by reducing off-target contamination without prejudicing biological efficacy.

Specific objectives are:

- to establish an experimental and theoretical framework for optimising the parameters of design, control and operation of pesticide application equipment for fruit and vineyard crops in Europe;
- to provide the basis for construction of prototypes of marketable sprayers and their subsequent commercial development;
- to minimize drift effect in orchard & vineyard spray applications.
