Existing work involves isozyme markers and it is intended to expand the activity to include RFLP and RAPD markers. Work is intended on apricot, almond, cherry, peach and plumb. It is the intention to find markers for genes of economic interest, to develop linkage maps and to increase the efficiency of breeding procedures such as back-crossing.
