SCALLOP SEA BED CULTIVATION IN EUROPE

Objective

Pectinid aquaculture is now expanding very quickly throughout the world. The present results show that bottom culture seems to be the most adapted to European conditions. However its application needs long term programmes, demanding labour (diving observations), in an environment still not well known.
The Concerted Action aims to share the acquired experience in the concerned countries to allow critical and constructive analysis of the research operation decided by the national and/or regional authorities. This synergy should be applied not only during regular meetings but also field studies, to compare the sampling and evaluation techniques. In this way it is hoped to bring enough specialists together in order to improve the understanding of the population dynamics and to increase the precision of evaluations.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
