Objective
The project aims at developing bio-economic models. These can be used by advisers and farmers as a tool for assessing the relative profitability of poplars composed to a range of other land use options on a particular site. They can also be used to improve poplar management.
The project will include:
- information on the distribution and profitability of poplars;
- determination of the influence of site on the productivity of new clones;
- development of simple indicators of site quality;
- study of site modifications (irrigation, fertilisation, drainage) on productivity.
