FUNDAMENTALS OF PRESSURIZED GASIFICATION OF BIOMASS FEEDSTOCKS

Objective

The objective is to provide new experimental data and understanding on the fundamentals of pressurized gasification of biomass feedstocks and on high-temperature cleaning of product gases. The aim of the project is to create fundamental data to support the development of new advanced power production systems based on pressurized gasification of biomass

The project will consist of the following main tasks:

Task 1 Laboratory experiments to characterize selected biomass feedstocks

Task 2 Bench-scale tests to study the formation of tars and nitrogen compounds in the conditions of fluidized-bed gasification and to measure the release of alkali-metals

Task 3 Result evaluation and modelling

Task 4 Bench-scale gas cleaning tests to study the thermal and catalytic decomposition of tars and fixed nitrogen compounds.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
