Objective
The FAR projects on European anchovy in the Mediterranean and Atlantic (MA1.151 MA2.495 MA3.730) have consolidated research groups that will continue on a national level on particular topics, such as acoustic evaluation and distribution of the stock anchovy spawning stock estimation through the DEPM, anchovy larval ecology and population structure.
Taking into account that these research groups on the European anchovy have the intention of carrying out further research on a cooperative basis with the aim of improving their knowledge on this species. The main objective of the present proposal is to maintain and enlarge the actual research groups and establish a network of researchers that will have periodic meetings, workshops and seminaries with the aim of interchanging methods and results and standardizing techniques.
These should be materialized in the organization of multi-purpose meetings with the primary aim of maintaining scientific ties among the institutions involved that will continue its anchovy studies with different lines of research, and ultimately, prepare a new research proposal wiih a more global and comprehensive perspective on the aim above proposed.
