Objective
The objectives of this project are:
- To evaluate the results of the 1994 intercalibration of 3 Gulf III type plankton samplers carried out in Hamburg.
- To promote the development, testing and calibration of a non intrusive or less entrusive means of measuring the volume filtered by a towed plankton sampler.
- To compare the performance and suitability of Gulf III and Bongo style towed samplers for use on quantitative fish egg and/or larvae surveys.
- To make recommendations to relevant ICES Working Groups about plankton sampler volume filtered measurements on ICES coordinated and ICEs sponsored egg and/or larvae surveys and advise on restrospective corrections to past survey data.
