Exploitable results
The primary objective of InProRos was to research and develop a prototype hardware and software environment for the integrated production of the steel components of reinforced concrete elements. The integrated production cell concept developed in InProRos has been implemented as a pilot plant in the reinforcement workshop at the premises of the main industrial end-user, Spanbeton BV. The successful implementation at the pilot plant demonstrates a considerable increase in competitiveness. The machinery and software developed during InProRos has lead to an overall increase in productivity and shortening of through-put and lead times in all stages of the reinforcement production process. The focus within the machinery developments in the projects was on cost-effective solutions that are accessible to SMEs.
