Objective
The interchange of expertise and experience in the application of mathematics to technological and environmental problems between the five Centres forming the network. The encouragement of new centres for the applications of mathematics to industry. The promotion of mathematical modelling in European industry. The development of detailed mathematical models for specific industrial problems. Training of young researchers in mathematics for industry.
The interchange of expertise and experience in the application of mathematics to technological and environmental problems between the 5 centres forming the network has been promoted. New centres for the applications of mathematics to industry are being encouraged. Detailed mathematical models for specific industrial problems are being developed. Young researchers are being trained in mathematics for industry. Four research fellows have been appointed to work on projects related to industry in their host centres. Several industrial and mathematical methodology meetings have been held and attracted strong participation from both industry and academia.
