Exploitable results
The research has been primarily focussed on molecular epidemiology which has no market applications, as far as I am aware. I will continue to study this area for it has implications in potential eradication programmes in the future. The research into the immunology of these viruses is primarily focussed on the expression of specific glycoproteins in yeast systems (Pichia pastoris) with the aim to study the effect of glycoproteins on target host cells.
The current network aims to get a better understanding of factors that are involved in central nervous system diseases which have a viral etiology.
