Objective
The Project has brought about the realisation of a prototype system to sort and stack panels and which is fully integrated with the panel saw. This system is able to follow the movements of the panels and to optimise the flow downstream of the panel saw itself without the need for human intervention.
The proposed system uses innovative electronic control systems which allow the machine to operate in a way that is not strictly linked to prior planning. In this way it is possible to adapt the machine for use in variable production contexts, as well as to carry out new and flexible panel processing schedules.
The technological solutions developed have shown themselves to be valid in both the specific sector of woodworking and in the more general context of manufacturing systems.
