Mechanisms for improving the productivity of braiding machines.

Objective

The rotary braiding principle is a mechanism for producing high quality braided products like rope, suture and hose reinforcing. It is considered that rotary braiding has the potential to both generate and meet an increase in demand for braided products. This project proposes that a fundamental review of the design and operation of rotary braiding machines is necessary. During this redesign process, attention will also be given to building an automated braiding system prototype with automatic changeover of yarn or wire bobbins (doffing).

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
