Objective
Within the framework of the FLADIS project (STEP-CT91-0125) research is carried out on the topic of dispersion of two-phase flashing releases, with emphasis on ammonia. In strong relation and interaction with this project a CEC sponsored project is also carried out to perform field tests of dispersion of ammonia under European conditions.
The aim of this project is to strengthen the use of results through a number of additional analysis activities are envisaged.
The additional field test analysis will include the following activities:
- Extended statistical analysis of concentration fluctuation data (main responsibility: University of Sheffield).
- Validation of a code for heavy gas jets against field data (main responsibility: University of Hamburg, University of Thessaloniki)
- Assessment of various equivalent source term concepts to be used for wind tunnel simulations against field data (main responsibility : TNO-IMET , University of Hamburg)
- Application of CFD-codes, including formation/behaviour of aerosols and concentration fluctuations on actual field test conditions (pre- and post test predictions) (main responsibility: Demokritos).
All activities will be carried out in close cooperation with the FLADIS-main project partners and the partners of the FLADIS field test project.
