Objetivo To study selective liquid-liquid extraction and the appropriate extractants for iron ions from metallurgical solutions.The main tasks in the project are as follows :- to develop a complexing agent or extraction system selective for iron;- to investigate phase relations, distribution equilibria, and stripping characteristics;- to apply the data from laboratory experiments to industrial solutions and to develop a continuous processes; thus creating the means for reducing the amount of iron sludges from hydrometallurgical processes to be dumped as chemical waste.
