Objective
The main goals in this project are divided in three big groups, first the development of more ecological phenolic resins, diminishing the toxic compounds (free phenol + formaldehyde) down to 1% and the organic solvent used in them up to 40%; the second is related with the development of an on-line control in the prepreg manufacture process to get an improvement in productivity around 30% and reducing at the same time the faulty products. The third grop is the implementation of a recovering plant that let recover and reuse all the sraps and wastes generated in the prepreg process manufacture, as well as the solvent emitted, getting a zero-waste process. An environmental and economic study will be done at the end of the project to asses the benefits of the developed systems.
