Objective
The agro food industry that works in sweets and confectionery sector has many processes that use great amounts of water. One of the most significant processes, from the wastewater-produced point of view, is the mould cleaning, either of chocolate or of other products. This problematic implies an important economical cost to the companies, both because the high volume of water consumed and because the amount of organic material waste. The main objective of this project is to minimise the volume and pollutant load of the wastewater from mould cleaning processes in the agro food industry, specifically in sweets and confectionery sector. This problem will be attacked by different fronts:- moulds of new materials and improved properties for turning out leaving less food residues- process parameters optimised- pre-cleaning treatment without water to minimise the stuck residues using new technologies as vibration, nitrogen and others- water-save cleaning technologies that produce less wastewater- recovering and reusing of wasted product The expected results will be:- Reduction in water consumption- Reduction in wastewater discharges- Valorisation of wasted product
