Intent "the transition towards global air and ground collaboration in traffic separation assurance"

Objective

The research question of INTENT is "How does the level of aircraft INTENT information, shared among ATM users and actors, relate to the air traffic system capacity, the avionics design and ATM system design?". To answer this question, a relationship between aircraft intent information, the place of responsibility for the traffic separation assurance process and airspace capacity will be found using compressed-time simulations containing human characteristics. Limited real-time simulations are used to derive the human characteristics and to validate the outcome of the compressed-time simulations. The main project result will consist of quantified results from the compressed-time simulations, translated into INTENT's main deliverable, a technology roadmap for airborne and ground-based equipment to increased airspace capacity and increased flight efficiency.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
