Objective
Euronim will bring Europe in a competitive position in the exponentially developing market of nitride based devices, exhibiting an exceptional range of applications. The goal is to create in EU industrial sources of nitride epitaxial wafers aiming at providing high quality material to the electronic and optoelectronic industry. SMEs, large European companies leading the application domains and research institutes recognised in the field are gathered towards this aim. Four types of industrial products will be developed: EPI ready SiC wafers, GaN on sapphire or SiC wafers for regrowth of active structures, very high quality GaN wafers (partner's patented process), epi wafers with structures upon customer request for electronic or optoelectronic applications. Advanced devices (HEMTs, laser diodes) will be obtained to assess the material quality.
