European virtual institute for speciation analysis for improvement of health, food, industry and environment

Objective

The goal of the planned virtual institute (VI) for speciation is to develop a highly interactive network based on modern IT tools. Customers will belong to food, toy, pharmaceutical and many other industries, but also researchers, regulatory bodies, commercial and governmental laboratories and more will benefit from the VI. It will summarize and disseminate the existing knowledge on element speciation from the academic world, interact with the industrial sectors to act on a consult. and mediator basis and provide the most appropriate solutions to analytical questions. The aim of the VI is hence to give the industry access to a wide array of expertise concerning speciation measurements by bringing together all European capabilities in the sector. The VI will interact with institutional European agencies and inform about the identification of industrial needs and the scientific state-of-the-art to help improving legal regulations.
