GEOTHERMIE HAAG

Objective

- realisation of an energy-optimied total system.
- maximum reduction of energy consumption and pollutants.
- maximum thermal exploitation of the thermal water as a contribution towards resource conservation.
- utilisation of the thermal water at every point in the thermal grid.
- a district thermal grid with the thermal water flowing through it should minimise transference losses.
- house transfer units with storage buffer guarantee correspondingly low return temperatures and automatically even out any peaks.
- a daytime reservoir compensates for the limited yield from the source and thereby guarantees a 1.5 - fold thermal power output.
- 56% saving in electrical consumption of the grid pumps.
- 40% less swept volume and thereby efficient resource conservation.
- 7.8 years payback in comparison to conventional system.
Company has reached the "turn around".
1. Hot water reservoir for compensating peak demands, degassing and exploitating the favourable night-time tariff for the source pump.
Use of corrosion-resistant GFK pipes with low thermal conductivity and low pressure losses. Transfer unit guarantees low return temperature through thermal layering of the buffered volume. A countercurrent heat exchanger ensures a low temperature gradient between thermal and heating water.
2. In addition to the above technical measures, an energy-saving tariff system coupled to a maximum possible heat withdrawal will encourage consumers to adapt their heating systems so as to reduce the return temperature as far as possible.
3. Higher costs of approximately 10% compared with conventional systems will be amortized within 8 years.
The power consumption amounts approximately to only half that of conventional systems.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
