Objective
Description:
A pulsed magnet station will be set up at the SNCMP Toulouse and will be made available to the specific community as a user magnet. The target field is at least 80 T in a 20 mm bore and with 30ms pulse duration. The magnet will be built according to the "coilin/coilex" scheme where two coaxial magnets are energised from different power sources. The outer magnet (coilex) will be wound from copper wire clad with steel and the 14 MJ capacitor banks will energise it, which is available at SNCMP. The inner magnet has to support the full force of the 80T + field, this will be made with very strong wires and optimised internal reinforcement. This will be energised by a 160KJ, 18 KV capacitor banks that will be obtained upgrading the existing transportable bank. The completed magnet system will be tested with critical experiments in order to provide full user access. The technology developed in this project can be transferred to other laboratories, in particular to large installations and thus increase access to research infrastructure.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
