Objetivo
To achieve an energy saving of approx.20% of the heat and electricity consumption referred to the drying process and to obtain an efficient quality control of the dryer product with drastic reduction of the waste products.L%
We studied the project and we realized the building drawings for a sample cell, we projected the hardware and software automatic control system of the drying cycle and also of datakeeping.
We realized the weighing system on the sample cells with different reading of the weight of 5 loomplanes on the low, medium and high part of the stacking.
We started up the system examining the correct reading of the data, the real practicability of the regulation based on the last of the weight. Is underlined that not all the dryer cycles have the same type of weight less.
We think these first results are satisfactory, regarding the realization of a more effective regulation system.
Base the control upon the weight loss of the lower group of trays appear to be more applicable as the wight loss of these trays requires a longer period of time.
All dryers of modern design are equipped with a regulation system which allows to control the feeding of hot air and the extraction of humid air, taking into consideration the duration of the cycle and avoiding to damage the material. The control and regulation system of the drying cycle are currently based on the continous measuring of the temperature and humidity in the drying environment.
The water evaporation speed can be expressed with the relationship :
dG/dt = Kv(t-ts) [kg/h]
dG/dt is the evaporation speed
(t-ts) is the difference in psychometric temperature of the circulating air
Kv is the coefficient which depends on various factors such the clay, the product, the technical caracteristics of the dryers.
The currently used system do not control directly the (t-ts) but the temperature and humidity of the dryers means. Thanks to the proposed regulation system, the ratio dG is mesured directly, in the course of time, expressed in kg/h of dt evaporated water of determined quantity of material.
This measurement allows to control directly the curve of drying and to regulate it effectively in the way that is suitable. This is possible thanks to the installation of continuous weighing system (load units) in the chambers immediately under one of more of the supports of the drying material. The system is so precise as to allow the evaluation of the humidity of the product with the passing of time to a chance of 0.2% of the dried weight. Moreover it is possible to install the units on various points of the chamber, thus evaluating the drying speed of the material put both in the most favorable and in the least favorable positions.
