Ancient Greece: daily life, philosophy and rituals

Objectif

AGORA attempts to address the issue of informing and educating young people on daily life in ancient Greece. In order to engage the user the series is focused on the following scenario: Two children (a boy and a girl) accompanied by a dog form a adventure team which explores the ruins of an ancient site. By examining the ruins of the site, they discover various finds. One of the finds is a magic token which transports the team back in time ... At their destination, the team meets a boy who becomes the "official guide" of the team. He explains to the adventure team not only the importance of the finds and the token, but also the procedures related to the place of interest. Under this unified approach, the adventure team starts the exploration of the past by actually visualizing the place and compare events and procedures to their own contemporary experience using as guides people of the past. In this way, the adventure team can learn a number of issues which are part more or less of every school curriculum in the world. The title series plans to cover mainly aspects of public and private life in ancient Athens and other parts of Greece(such as the well known Olympia, Delphi, Epidavros) and to explain notions such as democracy, theatre, gymnastics, education, sponsoring at the ancient times. The novelty of AGORA lies in the following: - each child will be able to associate himself/herself with aspects of one or more of the main actors of the adventure team. The question that the adventure team poses to the ancient people, will be answered as if they were asked directly by the kids/users of the program themselves. -the proposed project will be extensively use assets drawn from conventional and well established markets of traditional publishing and animation.
