Development of a complete reference system for harvesting, collecting, storing and converting high-yield crops for efficient and environmentally acceptable production of electricity

Objective

The expertise and experience of the following institutes and organisations will all contribute to achieving the goal of the project. The reference system will be located in the Northern part of Bavaria/Germany near Eastern Europe to serve as a pilot project for similar developments in Eastern European countries.
The objective of the project is to devise a reference system for the conversion of biomass. A manual of the experience acquired for application in similar projects.

The project will constitute the required follow up to the research work carried out in Europe so far. The expertise and results acquired by the participating institutes and organisations will contribute to achieving the goal set forth. The reference system will be located in the northern part of Bavaria (Neustadt a.d. Waldnaab).

Newest cultivation techniques
for transportation and storage of biomass will be applied.

The overall project has been worked out for an energy production up to 0 MW electricity derived from biomass. The essential technological step in this reference system is the conversion of biomass into electricity and heat by following options:

- combustion - steam generation - steam turbine or stirling motor - combustion - hot flue gas - compression - gas turbine
- gasification - gas cleaning - gas turbine or gas motor.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
