INFLUENCE OF TYPE OF FILL AND OF ITS SETTING UNDERGROUND ON THE STABILITY OF MINING STRUCTURES

Ziel

ESTABLISH A SCIENTIFIC HANDBOOK OF THE FILLING METHOD AND THEREAFTER ASSESS THE FEASIBILITY OF INCREASING RECOVERY RATES IN MINING OPERATIONS.

THE PROJECT IS DIVIDED IN FOUR PHASES

PHASE 1 : INVESTIGATION INTO THE VARIOUS MATERIALS USED FOR BACK FILLING AND INTO THE PRACTICE OF FILLING

PHASE 2 : IN SITU ASSESSMENT OF THE MECHAMICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE FILLING AND THE SURROUDING ROCK MASS(INVOLVES IN SITU MEASUREMENTS AND FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS)

PHASE 3 : COMPILATION OF A "BACK FILLING HAND BOOK" (TO FACILITATE THE CHOICE OF A METHOD), WITH REFERENCE TO THE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE RECOVERY RATE.

PHASE 4 : CONCLUSION ABOUT THE FEASIBILITY OF THE FILLING.
