Objectif
The study of cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying oligodendrocytedevelopment is a prerequisite to understand pathologies linked to myelin dysfunction. During development, the oligodendroglial specification of intraepithelial cells is a process spatially restricted which gives rise to a diversity of oligodendrocyte cells types. The aim of our project is to study, from multidisciplinary approaches (molecular and cellular) and in different animal models (Drosophilae, chick, mouse):
i) the developmental mechanisms regulating the oligodendrogenesis from undifferentiated intraepithelial precursors: focusing on genetic cascade that controls the choice of oligodendroglial lineage; and
ii) the biological consequences of molecular and spatial differentiate characters of oligodendrocyte progenitors; focusing the migration patterns and their molecular control.
