Robust chemical sensors and biosensors for rapid on-line identification of freshly collected and processed milk

Objective

This proposal addresses issues of quality management, trace ability and safety during the production and processing of milk. it is proposed to design and develop novel sensing devices for a range of key analyses as indicators of milk contamination and milk processing efficiency.
Faecal contamination and a flatoxin m1 detection will be monitored during freshly milk collection. Then marker compounds as lactulose, lactose, lactosilated proteins and alkaline phosphates and lactoperoxidase enzymes will be analysed and quantified in real time using screen printed or composite biosensors and immunosensors coupled with flow-through or via technology.
