Engineering enzyme activation by mimicking an autoregulation process.

Objective

We propose to mimic the natural process of intrasteric inhibition and to create enzymes that will be up regulated by binding of a foreign protein. A fusion protein between mutants of beta-lantanas recognized by foreign proteins and peptide inhibitor of this enzyme will be constructed.
