Objective
The aim of this pro ject is to develop a renewable energy education Plant to provide a pool of trained personnel to service expected dernand in the renewable energy industry. The proposed actions will constitute a basis for integrating the education and training component into renewable energy programmes where the needs in terms of education are now unserviced. The action plan programme will target decision-makers, designers, planners, researchers, medium and high-level technicians as well as technical supervisors. Partners from Europe and from other countries will cooperate on the development of this Plan.
Within the framework of the Renewable Energy Education and Training Institute Programme (proposed in this project), universities, research institutes, technology transfer centers, governmental and intergoverrnmental organisations, renewable energy experts and industries will contribute to the implemention of the different initiatives and the evaluation of educational needs in the renewable energy field.
They will also be involved in the creation of a specialized Master s degree course leading to a University Diploma in renewable energies. Efforts to meet the education and training needs must be targeted towards three different but complementary activities.
a) Advanced theoretical and practical training for researchers, planners and designers to be provided by a one year postgraduate degree diploma by Universities and Engineering Schools.
b) Essentially practical but also some elementary theoretical knowledge for the training of technicians and operators to be provided over weeks or months by vocational and technical Schools.
c) General knowledge to inform decision-makers to be provided by Universities and other institutions of similar standing through short seminars, workshops or summer schools.
