Exploitable results
STACCIS is using effective dissemination mechanisms to bring telematics-based technologies to the European Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine). The project is establishing a network of national information and demonstration centres in the European CIS countries, which then further disseminate the information and technical initiation to local or regional promoters, developers and users. These centres contain:
a library service to ensure systematic collection and easy access to relevant publications on telematics related standards, networking technology, human-computer interfaces, multimedia and network security;
a consulting service to provide free advice and consulting on the development, exploitation and upgrading of the existing computer telecommunications resources for the network users, troubleshooting and an on-line help desk, incorporated into the STACCIS World Wide Web site;
A Web visibility service, which is being designed over the lifetime of the project;
a demonstration service which establishes and maintains direct contacts with the developers and providers of telematics applications.
