Best management practices for the productive/protective rehabilitation of forested sloping lands

Objective



THE PROJECT IS MAINLY AIMED TO IDENTIFY WITH THE AIM OF WELL TESTED COMPUTER CODES THE BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES TO REHABILITATE DEFORESTED SLOPING LANDS BY MEANS OF SUITABLF PRODUCTIVE AND PROTECTIVE ACTIONS TO INCREASE. THE YIELD OF ALIMENTARY CROPS WHILE PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT. THE MAIN GOALS OF THE PROJECT ARE:
- TO SELECT AND TEST CROPS ACCORDING TO THEIR CONTENT IN NUTRIENTS TO MEET THE LOCAL DIET REQUIREMENTS;
- TO VERIFY THEIR POTENTIAL IN REDUCING LOCAL ENERGY REQUIREMENTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON FARM INCOME;
- TO WORK OUT AN EXPERT SYSTEM ENABLING LOCAL ADVISORS TO TAKE OPTIMIZED DECISIONS;
- TO CARRY OUT A FIELD TESTING CAMPAIGN TOGETHER WITH A TRAINING ACTIVITY.
