Objective
THE RESEARCH PROJECT GENDER, REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH:USER PERSPECTIVES OF FERTILITY REGULATION TECHNOLOGIES AND services IN'ZIMBABWE, AIMS AT - SETTING PARAMETERS FRO A GENDER-AWARE AND NEED-ORIENTED FAMILY PLANNING AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROGRAMME IN ZIMBABWE. THIS IS DONE IN CONSULTATION WITH VARIOUS ACTORS INVOLVED IN REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH IN ZIMBABWE, INCLUDING THE ZIMBABWE NATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING COUNCIL.
THE RESEARCH OBJECTIVES ARE:
1. TO INVESTIGATE WHAT USER VIEWS ARE ON FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES AND CONTRACEPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES; AND HOW THESE SERVICES AFFECT THEIR DAYS To DAY LIFE AND WELL-BEING
2. To STUDY HOW USERS VIEW SAFETY, EFFICACY AND ACCEPTABILITY OF CONTRACEPTIVES DIFFER FROM CONVENTIONAL BIOMEDICAL DEFINITIONS; 1. TO INVESTIGATE HOW FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAMMES CAN BE IMPROVED; THE RESEARCH IS INTERDISCIPLINARY IN NATURE, COMBINING QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH TECHNIQUES AND ANTRHOPOLOGICAL, MEDICAL AND DEMOGRAPHIC PERSPECTIVES;
IT WILL BE CONDUCTED IN FIVE PHASES OF WHICH THE LAST IS AN ACTION PHASE IN WHICH THE RESULTS ARE PUT TO USE IN COLLABORATION WITH THE VARIOUS ACTORS INVOLVED IN THE FIELD OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
