Ziel

The basic objective of the present project is to implement, within the Municipality of Athens, the M 7I strategy for central heating boilers developed in the context of the study inspection Strategies for the external combustion in Urban Areas by Local Authorities. Based on this, a Central Computerized Enforcement Unit, covering the entire Municipality, will be formed.
Assuming that the M & I program will reduce the fuel consumption by an average of 8,5%. On the other hand the maintenance program is expected to yield very significant reduction in the pollutant emissions, especially thes of black smoke.
The system will rely on external licensed mechanics to regularly inspect and maintain the boilers and to issue the boiler maintenance reports, on few internal inspectors to check the the quality of work of each licensed mechanic,and on computers to keep tight control of this boiler maintenance progress and of each licensed mechanic performance record.
Tasks:
1. Creation of the unit within the Municipality
2. Formulation of required legislative changes
3. Software purchase and development (software for the buildings data-base, data entry/ checking/ verification software, boiler simulation/ analysis software, maintenance control &monitoring software, Inspection program generation software,maintenance mechanics performance monitoring software, management information system software.
4. Computer hardware selection &software installation
5. Training on the software use
6. Initialization of the buildings data-base
7. Training and equipping the units inspectors
8. Test operation and support
9. Appraisal of the overall system performance.
