Methodology for Efficient Driving Schemes In public Transport

Ziel

The project consists in investigating whether there are the real conditions for obtaining a significant reduction in fuel consumptions by applicating a methodology able to promote an energetically efficient driving style based on both instrumental support of on-line measurements and training support for drivers of the urban public service. It is known that the driving style, even at the same average speed, remarkebly influences vehicle consumption and wear

The working programme includes:
- analysis of the different characteristics of transport vehicles, routes and management company;
- analysis of the state of the art of existing instruments for evaluating driving behaviour;
- definition of data acquisition system;
- execution of the measurement campaign;
- development of indicator instruments and equipment;
- indicator performance and data processing in specific
campaigns;
- training for drivers and consequences to the fleet management
