Programme for the Establishment of Monitoring and Targeting (M&T) Systems in German Industrial Sites

Objective

Implementation of M&T systems in 5 German industrial sites and publication of the (successful) results

During the project monitoring and targeting (M&T) systems would be established in four or five German pilot plants.
The ability of M&T systems to reduce the utility consumption and therefor the utility costs would be demonstrated in this project. By publishing the results and a description how M&T works, further companies should be motivated to implement M&T systems themselves.

In the first phase of the project an information campaign will inform German managers about M&T and successful case studies in industrial sites in other countries.
Based on this information companies which are interested to participate in the project would be recruited. In preliminary audits, the costs and the potential for savings will be investigated in these companies. Based on this preliminary audits four or five companies would be selected as pilot plants.

In phase two the M&T systems would be installed and operated in the pilot plants. The stuff would be trained how to use the system. Regular visits of the consultant team in the pilot plants would ensure an optimum of savings achieved in these plants.

We expect that we are able to demonstrate with these pilot plants the possibility to reduce the utility costs of companies significantly by operating an M&T system, with an attractive pay-back period for the investment.
Comprehensive information about the success of M&T in these pilot plants would be published in the third phase by articles in journals and lectures at conferences. A wide dissemination of M&T in Germany should be ensured by this.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
