STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF SOME CLIMATIC EXTREMES (HAIL, THUNDERSTORMS, HEAVY RAINFALLS, RISK OF FOREST FIRES) AND THEIR CHARACTERIZATION AND MEASUREMENT WITH AUTOMATIC SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING THEIR CLIMATOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING

Obiettivo



DURING THE FIRST YEAR, A SYSTEMATIC STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CLIMATIC EXTREMES LISTED IN THE TITLE WILL BE PERFORMED; THE AIM IS TO PUT THE BASIS TO EVALUATE THE VALIDITY OF AN AUTOMATIC SYSTEM FOR THE PREVISION AND DETECTION OF SUCH EXTREMES, TO BE TESTED IN THE SECOND YEAR.
THE MESURE OF CLIMATIC EXTREMES WITH AUTOMATIC SYSTEMS (METEOROLOGICAL RADAR, AUTOMATIC METEOROLOGICAL STATIONS).
THE AIM OF THE WORK IS TO EVALUATE AUTOMATICALLY SOME SIGNIFICANT METEOROLOGICAL PARAMETERS CHARACTERIZING SUCH CLIMATIC EXTREMES (E.G. ECHO INTENSITY AND AREA, CLOUD TOPS, RAINFALL DISTRIBUTION, ETC.9 AND RELATING SUCH QUANTITIES WITH THE CONVENTIONAL DATA THAT HAVE BEEN COLLECTED IN THE PAST FOR IMRPOVING THE CLIMATOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE PHENOMENA TO BE STUDIED.
