Functional Diversity of T cells

Project description

Characterisation of T cell diversity

T cells constitute an important part of adaptive immunity against pathogens and comprise different populations with different functions. Identification of these T cell subsets usually relies on the expression of surface antigens including CD4+ and CD8+. However, we lack basic understanding of the functional diversity of T cells at the single-cell level. The key objective of the EU-funded FunDiT project is to characterise the gene expression profile and identify key pathways in single T cells. Project results will help determine the role of different T cell subsets in the immune response.
