Obiettivo In order to obtain high production rates and low production costs, the steel industry uses large vessels lined with high quality refractory materials and expects long campaigns without stoppages or incidents. The stability and the performance of the refractory lining of blast furnace hearth and of various other metallurgical reactors not only depend on the quality of the basic lining but also on the behaviour of the joining materials. The research project will focus on the study of these joining materials.
