Ziel
The Saclay Laser-Matter Interaction Center (SLIC) is dedicated to Ultrafast Photoscience such as high-intensity laser interaction, solid state physics, femtochemistry, laser-plasma interaction and femtosecond/attosecond XUV sources. SLIC is located at SACLAY, 20kms away from Paris. SLIC provides state-of-the-art ultrashort lasers, high-technology experimental set-ups and a world-wide scientific expertise. SLIC facilities typical pulse duration is 50 fs. Peak power up to 10TW at 10Hz repetition rate is available at the UHI10 laser for ultra-high intensity interaction beyond 1018 W/cm2.
Multicolour experiments can be carried out at the LUCA facility which offers 4 synchronised complementary lines allowing for an outstanding tunability from infrared to XUV (10nm). For applications requiring higher repetition rate and pulse to pulse stability, the SOFOCKLE facility offers a fifth laser line with 40fs, 0.7mJ pulses at 1 kHz. Rare experimental set-ups are also offered such as the Up-conversion Laboratory for the study of the femtosecond time resolved fluorescence of molecules by up-conversion method.
Application:
In order to apply to the SLIC Access program, researchers are advised to get in touch first with the technical manager padol@drecam.cea.fr to evaluate the feasibility of the experiment and obtain information on detailed access opportunities and conditions. Following this first step, the proposal submission is done fully electronically by the applicant, using the Limans3 Electronic Proposal Processing System (http://limans3.mbi-berlin.de)
