In a letter dated 3 August 1990 the Commission of the European Communities requested the assent of the Council, pursuant to Article 55 (2) (c) of the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community, to the grant of financial aid for steel research projects and steel pilot/demonstration projects. The Council gave the assent at its 1 426th meeting on 24 and 25 September 1990.
