Aid for Danish and Dutch steel undertakings
A Commission Decision concerns the granting of aid to steel undertakings by the Danish and Dutch Governments. The aid, intended to reduce the increase in the tax burden on steel undertakings in these two countries resulting from the introduction of a specific tax designed to protect the environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions and increasing energy efficiency, is considered to be compatible with Common Market policy and aims. The Decision shall enter into force on 1 July in the Netherlands, and in Denmark on the day of its notification, and shall apply until 31 December 1996.
