A new European Educational Programme for CSO decision makers!

Four European University Centres have designed an Executive Educational Programme for CSO decision makers as a part of the CINEFOGO Network of Excellence.

The EPICS programme is designed and delivered by leading European Research Centres and Scholars and aims to provide relevant strategic and managerial issues facing CSO leaders and managers.

Prof. Reinhard Millner from the Research Institute for Nonprofit Organisations at Wirtschaftsuniversität in Wien explains: "There is a growing desire among leaders in European civil society organisations (CSOs) to challenge their basic assumptions, develop their formal knowledge base and expand their personal networks". For that reason the programme focuses on the mix of participants from different CSOs and in different countries which will create challenging experiences, and help build professional contacts and potential future strategic partners.

On the EU level the programme shall contribute to a European identity of CSO policy makers responsible, Civil Society Organizations and enhance their opportunities to learn from other key players in the European field of CSOs. Millner continues: "In the context of an ongoing European integration process developing certain skills and a mutual understanding of frameworks, differences and similarities, this initiative is aimed to foster the development of joint policies".
