Agricultural and agro-industrial research (AIR) projects
A total of 762 proposals were submitted in response to the November 1991 call for proposals (OJ No C 264 of 10.10.1991) in the framework of the specific programme for RTD and demonstration actions in the field of agriculture and agro-industry including fisheries (AIR, 1990-1994). The proposals involved some 4600 participants requesting a total Community financial contribution of ECU 1 billion. After assessment, 104 proposals were accepted with an overall Community contribution amounting to ECU 130 million, of which ECU 45 million was allocated to demonstration actions. All contracts are scheduled to start this year. A second call for proposals was launched in July (closing date 30 October 1992) for which there is an available EC appropriation of ECU 140 million, with no demonstration projects to be funded in this round.
