CORDIS renews its suite of web applications

A new search and repository architecture leads to a simplified and harmonised user experience.

Moving on from the variety of options that were available on CORDIS, a single search engine now drives the Projects & Results(opens in new window) , News & Events(opens in new window) and Top Stories(opens in new window) services, as well as the simple(opens in new window) and advanced(opens in new window) searches, including a global search box in the top right corner of every page. Search results behave in the same way across services, allowing refinements to browse deeper into content, editing of search queries and downloads into XML and CSV formats. You can keep up with the latest content published on CORDIS with RSS feeds(opens in new window) and a new Notifier for email updates(opens in new window). CORDIS Wire(opens in new window) has also been substantially simplified and your news and events are now listed directly in the main News service. You can register directly as a Wire contributor through the revamped MyAccount(opens in new window) application that centralises the core user information. Other web services are in the process of being adapted to share the same look and feel. Older services are being archived and relevant content is being moved to more suitable complementary websites like the Participant Portal(opens in new window) , Research on Europa(opens in new window) , Digital Agenda(opens in new window) and the European Research Council(opens in new window) . CORDIS continues to deepen its focus on the dissemination of research results, with a commitment to making it easy to find and reuse its data. With a new data model behind the scenes, richer datasets are planned for the Open Data Portal(opens in new window) and information on the first Horizon 2020(opens in new window) projects will be available towards the end of the year. Iterative developments will continue in the coming weeks and months to adapt to these significant changes to the CORDIS system architecture, including translations, corrections, performance and additional functions. Your feedback is very welcome to ensure that CORDIS becomes a transparent and reliable source of all information on EU-funded projects and their results in the broadest sense.
