Launching the REViSITE ICT4EE cross-sectoral Community
The REViSITE (Roadmap Enabling Vision and Strategy for ICT-enabled Energy Efficiency) project has been set up to consolidate a cross sectoral research community in Europe based on 4 industrial disciplines: manufacturing, construction, lighting and grids. These sectors are represented by various initiatives including the European Technology Platforms – ETPs - (ARTEMIS, ECTP, MANUFUTURE, PHOTONICS21 and SMARTGRIDS) and brought together under the umbrella of ICT for Energy Efficiency (ICT4EE) The final goal is to create a self-sustainable ICT4EE Community and a common RTD (Research & Technical Development) roadmap across the four selected fields. The Community aims to rationalise in one unique vision the currently dispersed RTD communities that represent the industry sectors which often come together in delivering infrastructures and environments for production, business and living. With these activities, REViSITE is expected to provide a significant contribution towards achieving the European 20-20-20 strategy. REViSITE has launched an open invitation for members of the initial Community core group that shall refine the integrated ICT4EE taxonomy already developed by the consortium.
