GEARING-Roles Kick-Off!
The GEARING-Roles project kick-off meeting took place on January 17th and 18th 2019 in Bilbao, Spain. The meeting brought together the 10 GEARING-Roles partners from eight countries (Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Slovenia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands) to present the project to external stakeholders from Spain (including private consultants, public organizations, among others), meet and discuss the project with the European Commission Project Officer, share information about their organisations and discuss the GEARING-Roles work plan over the next four years, and see a presentation. The GEARING-Roles partners represent a combination of industry/SMEs, academia and research institutions including one research council. The project is coordinated by The University of Deusto in Spain. GEARING-Roles is a four-year (January 2019 – December 2022) Coordination and Support Action project that will bring together a pan-European group of academics and industry professionals to collaborate and exchange knowledge, good practices, and lessons learned on designing, implementing, and evaluating 6 Gender Equality Plans (GEPs). The project therefore has a firm objective of challenging and transforming gender roles and identities linked to professional careers, and working towards real institutional change. This multidisciplinary, multinational, and multi-sectorial collaboration will be supported by training in this space, mentoring activities, awareness raising campaigns as well as bi-annual videos and podcasts and annual networking events.
